As a partner of Elmhurst Animal Care Center, situated in suburban Elmhurst, Illinois, Dr. Joel Todd Leroy Prince treats a variety of animals through routine, emergency, and surgical care. Dr. Joel Todd Leroy Prince received certification in 1993 from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) with a specialty in canine and feline practice, making him one of only 15 doctors of veterinary medicine in Illinois to be awarded diplomate status. Founded in 1978, the ABVP improves the quality of veterinary medicine through certification.
Held annually, the ABVP symposium is a four-day event that allows other veterinarians to network and learn about advances in veterinary medicine. Those diplomates who have obtained certification or gone through the recertification process receive recognition at the symposium. The 2014 event, which is the 19th symposium for the ABVP, is from October 30 through November 2 in Nashville, Tennessee. At the symposium, individuals may attend interactive speaking sessions, luncheons, receptions, lectures, exhibits, and workshops. In addition, those who attend the symposium may qualify for continuing education credit for up to 23 hours.
